Hebrews 4:16

Let us then come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

I have spent the last 2 days with some very sweet friends at our annual Home School Convention. There were some great speakers and we had a wonderful time just being together!

Our favorite Math Teacher, Mr. Steve Demme was at the convention and by far he was one of my favorites. He also sent home a note to the kids who were ecstatic that I was able to talk to the "Math Guy" on their DVD's. :)

He spoke to us on the importance of the family and how to keep our heart and head and eyes and ears focused on God as we minister to our family and seek to Honor God. He reminded us that God is infinitely involved in every aspect of our lives. His hands are not tied and his arms are not crossed where we are concerned. He is always here, always involved, always full of grace, always seeking us and always loving us. His keynote was by far my favorite. I actually bought the CD and want to listen to it with my family. He was so funny!

Jeannie Fulbright was another speaker who I enjoyed listening to. Her very first seminar focused on "How to Build Your House". Her scripture focus was from Proverbs 14:1 "The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish tears it down with her own hands." She continued to teach us that to truly honor and respect our husbands we need to seek God alone as the one who satisfies our needs. When we are full of him we won't set unrealistic expectations on our husbands to be more than they are supposed to be. We can minister to them out of the time spent with the Lord and be a blessing and a helper to them. When we set our expectations on the people in our lives we are forfeiting our God given right to joy and peace.

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." What an image of the transforming and renewing power of God to work in our lives and through that we can minister to the family He gave to us! She also reminded us that God goes beyond our expectations. Ephesians 3:20 "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."

I was so blessed by the music and ministry of David Michael Carillo. He shared the struggles and trials of growing up with ADHD, and his ministry was one of healing and grace to all those who heard him speak. I wrote down something that he said and I really love the way it glorifies God in our trials. " Trust me with your whole heart, submit to me your stumbling blocks and I will turn them into stepping stones." I know there was more but I didn't write fast enough.

He reminded us of the scripture in Psalm 139 that tells us that God alone was the one who knit us together in our mother's womb, that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. God doesn't make mistakes. I love this Psalm! I love how it reminds us of the beauty of the Lord and how numerous are His thoughts are toward us.

Psalm 139
O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

It was an encouragement to be at the convention and come home with my vision on the only One who can truly guide me as I serve my husband and kids. God is so Good! He is always faithful!

Many Blessings to you!

Isaiah 54:13 - All thy children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of thy children.
