Hebrews 4:16

Let us then come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Vulnerable Prayers

The word 'vulnerability in your prayers' has been running through my mind today.  I have been contemplating just what that means.  We see many prayers offered throughout scripture which reveal the desperate situation of the one who is seeking the hand of the Father to intervene.

I think about this and I am awestruck at the mere wonder of who He is,  as the Holiest of All bends His ear to hear my plea. Yet, that is what He does. He is eager to meet our needs in surpassing abundance.

Psalm 37:4 says, " Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

I fear all to often I deny the opportunity for prayer in my life because I am not willing to be vulnerable  and share the cries of my heart to those who are strategically placed in my life for the purpose of encouragement.  Yet that is what He is asking me to do. Be vulnerable, ask for prayer and pray for others. There is a grace unrealized when we walk away from the opportunity to pray for one another.

Do you ask the Lord to bring in those laborers into your life? To walk alongside of you and help you to walk together?  There is an element of power in the unified prayer; however, to be able to truly pray with another you have to be vulnerable to share the needs you have.

Sometimes we are invested of ourselves and find that we are now stripped of the very clearly set boundaries which were set up to protect. We are raw and bruised by the humanity so much a part of our reality and we choose to pull back. The longer we barricade ourselves from experiencing true companionship, in prayer, the longer we walk outside of the unique freedom of expectation.

I want to encourage you to step out and seek out that prayer warrior who is there waiting to lift you up.There is a depth of burgeoning glory waiting for the hearts of those who willingly bow to the power of the Almighty expecting His glory to shine in their circumstances. There is a masterpiece already prepared by the eloquent words woven together in series of heartfelt pleas to the One who hears and knows our needs before the words take form on our lips.

The beauty which escapes our notice is relevant to the culture of our existence; yet our existence draws from the knowledge of the Holy. This wisdom, true wisdom, eliminates the ineffective  teachings which can defeat the awareness of Truth. Truth is objective relational to its origination.  Christ is Truth. He alone sets the standard of that measuring bar.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and WE are beholden by the King. Beauty, both inward and outward, is a reflection of His thoughts toward us.  This world is a fleeting ship, moving at the whim of the winds blowing.  The instability of this force can leave us stranded.  Yet, the original mover, the beginning of motion, the creator of all that is seen, is not moved by the circumstances and paradigms of the temporal, continually changing, unreliable present. He never changes, He is the same yesterday, today and forever. ( Hebrews 13:8)

There is a place of humble submission. A stance upon bended knee -  A lowly admission that I "kneed" help.  It is the bended knee, the bowed head, the whispered petition which moves the hand of God.

The prayer of the faithful man availeth much. ~ James 5:16

Praying the glorious light of His countenance would be upon you and you will know His heart towards you today.

Blessings to you!
